Set user preferences

The user preferences section, directly below your basic information, is where you set general rules for how Client Portal’s tools and widgets display information for your accounts. The preferences you can set include:

  • Reporting time zone

  • Account & security display

Set a reporting time zone


Reporting time zone allows you to set the time zone widgets and Workspaces used to report information on your accounts (e.g., if data for an account is updated, the update timestamp in the right-hand corner of every Workspace reports that update using the time from the time zone you select).

To set a reporting time zone:

  1. Select the arrow in the field labelled Time zone.

  2. Select a time zone in the dropdown menu.

  3. Select Save changes.

You can also enable daylight saving time (DST), so the widgets and Workspaces report information using the adjusted time during daylight saving time. To set daylight saving time on or off, select the checkmark icon next to DST (when the icon is highlighted, DST is on and when the icon is grey, DST is off).

It is recommended that you enable this option to avoid any reporting time discrepancies.

Choose an account/security display preference


By default, your settings will be set to display accounts and securities by their name. This can be changed to your preferred setting in the account & security display section. 

To set an account/security display preferences:

  1. Select the arrow in the field titled Service display preference

  2. S.elect either option (Show Name or Show Code) in the dropdown menu

  3. Select Save changes.
