Set a reporting currency

The currency selector, labelled Currency, is where you can choose what currency you want the widgets to report a portfolio’s values in. This is called your reporting currency.

Workspace view options

To choose a reporting currency, simply click the arrow under Currency on the top right-hand side of the content header. This opens a drop-down menu with the following options:

  • Use account currency – the default currency used to report your account’s/account group’s activities and earnings, set by your advisor (automatically changes to match default for different accounts/groups you view)

  • Always report in – any currency used to buy a security held by the account/account group you’re viewing or any world currency Client Portal knows the foreign exchange rate of (does not change as you view different accounts/groups)

You can then click any of the currencies listed under these options to set the reporting currency for the account/account group you are viewing. When you first sign in to Client Portal, all accounts have their reporting currency set to their default account currency.

Some widgets report certain values in a currency other than the reporting currency you set, as it is important for you to understand these values in their original currency. These values and the currency they are reported in are noted in the user guides as they appear.
